Essay Edition
Consideration and Conscientiousness
Consideration is quite spiritual, and yet I think a lot of people do not recognize it as specifically spiritual. To be considerate is quite essential. I would not consider this to be a dispensable aspect of spiritual practice.
When we are considerate, we align with the truth, which is that we are one. When we are inconsiderate, we are usually acting on behalf of ourselves. Me first, everybody else second. My problems, those are your problems. We ignore the effect that our actions have on others. That act causes us to inwardly become separate. It is very difficult to be in a deep spiritual state and be selfish, to ignore the state of other individuals.
When we are considerate, we expand our scope of self and act on behalf of the totality, on behalf of all that we see. It opens the heart because the heart feels that it is not separate and isolated, but one with all in the field. This is a very Bhakti principle. When you practice it, you realize that much of the world is not considerate. It is a practice. It is an art to be considerate.
When we are considerate, we have learned the subtleties of our presence. To be considerate, one has to be listening and aware of others. How do they feel when I say this? Did slamming the door affect that person? There are so many little things to notice, so one has to be extremely conscientious. We have to be conscientious of the effects of our actions.
Some people walk into the movie theater speaking at the top of their voices. They are late, they open their phone, the light is shining, and they are completely oblivious to the way they are affecting others. This will just perpetuate an inner state of isolation. The heart feels a pull because it is listening to the hearts of others.
Some people are extremely considerate and yet have not necessarily connected that to an aspect of their spiritual evolution. It is. You have developed the capacity to see others, to listen, and to be aware of their feelings. Your heart, as a faculty of knowing, is knowing the condition of others and attending to their condition by considering them within the potential choices that you may make.
Be aware of the neighbors and how they are affected, and of your friends and how they are affected. It requires us to get over ourselves and go beyond selfishness into a self-transcendent perspective.
Etiquette, Communication, and Empathy
Good manners are a form of consideration, for sure. It is more than simply being polite. My Param Guru, my teacher's teacher, would say that etiquette is a very beautiful Eastern principle. You see it in Japan a lot. They bow. If somebody is older than you, you bow lower. There are all kinds of etiquette there, and it is not just a matter of being polite. It is actually a way of conducting oneself in life so that we are not trashing everybody. We are not just trashing the place. There has to be a level of reverence for another human being: I honor you. Thank you for being here.
There is power in that. There is power in etiquette, in its various forms. Sometimes it perhaps becomes dogmatic, like sticking your pinky out when you hold the spoon. Maybe that does not matter. But it is a form of respect. When we are respecting others, we are considering them because we are not trashing their feelings. We are keeping a clean inner dialogue between us and others. Very progressive relationships require us to consider those inner dimensions of respect, etiquette, and manners, and how we can be aware of how somebody feels.
Communication is an important part because, in order to be considerate, one has to be in some form of communication with another. That communication may be empathic and unspoken, but sometimes it is good to check in with people. Some people do not know how to speak up, or some lack of communication causes a degradation of a relationship because consideration cannot ensue and enrich the experience.
Sometimes letting people know why one does something is a form of consideration. You could say something to somebody and see that they are deeply offended or very bothered by it. Maybe you did not mean it in a bad way, so that might be an opportunity to be considerate of their feelings and clarify what you meant, rather than just leaving them with that.
There are more obvious versions, like not yelling across the apartment complex at two in the morning when everybody is sleeping. But there are more subtle versions that require somebody to really be empathic and attuned to the feelings of others. If you think about great saints, sages, prophets, and devoted practitioners, generally they are quite considerate and aware. Usually, it is a sign of spiritual evolution that one is aware of the effect of their actions and words on other people, and attends to the situation with care to make sure everything is copacetic and everybody is okay.
In the film Blast from the Past, a gentleman and a lady are described as people who try to make everybody around them feel as comfortable as possible. Really make people feel comfortable. What a beautiful quality to cultivate. It is very connected to the heart. When we do this, our heart expands and warms. We are tending to others. You can tend to your plants, your art, and your business, but you can also attend to others through consideration.
We live in a society, especially in America, of me, me, me, me first, everybody out for themselves. That is not the considerate orientation. The considerate orientation is very much an us orientation: we, us, ours. Not me, mine. Not me first, you second. Not get as much as I can, you have to fend for yourself. I am considering everybody.
In traffic, let somebody go first. How wonderful does it feel when we do that? We feel it in our heart. We feel how honorable it is. To have compassion for people who are not as spiritually evolved is also a form of consideration, to forgive them in their ignorance. Maybe they do not know yet. Maybe nobody told them.
Some people are scared not to continuously put themselves first, or they have karma around it. They have been taken from so much that maybe they need to put themselves first for a little bit to rebalance that. Sometimes it might not be the worst thing if somebody is practicing not being taken advantage of and they are tending to themselves. It is better not to judge.
Ultimately, we want to reach a place where being considerate is natural and balanced. It does not mean being selfless and having no food, no shelter, and no peace of mind, and giving everything away, because then we are not being considerate to the totality without exclusion. Excluding ourselves is putting a divider where there should be no self and other. There just is conscientiousness to everything, all.
Consideration in Difficult Decisions
What about being considerate to your company? And perhaps being considerate to the individual who may subconsciously know that they are not in the right space? Even if they stayed, there is some feeling that they are not completely accepted or completely a fit for the position. If they left, maybe they would find something in which they could thrive more completely.
Being considerate and seeing the truth seem to be very much linked because consideration is less about our opinion and our power over others, and more about recognizing what is right. Trusting that could be very powerful. You are just a messenger, and your job is to act on what is right, what is righteous, which is to do the right thing in that moment. Perhaps a month later, if they get let go, you could call and check in with them or keep an eye out for an opportunity for them, which would be beautiful.
Sometimes the truth is difficult. It is very considerate to bring the truth through. A relationship between a company and an employee may or may not be appropriate anymore. It is a very considerate thing to follow through, with a heavy heart, with what is necessary. It is a service. Continue to be in service beyond that. Do not just say good riddance to this individual. You are in service.
Krishnamurti says something really beautiful. He says that when you are in choiceless awareness, choiceless meaning there is no choice, there is only one way. There is only one right way. There is a spontaneous action of love when you feel you are in your heart and acting on love and truth, and really connected there.
There is a sense that there is no choice happening. One is not the chooser anymore. Agency is an illusion. You can actually get into that state. Meditate deeply and act from the heart completely, and agency becomes an illusion.
I am trusting my heart and saying what happens spontaneously. Then how could I regret it if I followed my heart? What else could I have done? Maybe my skills were not perfect, but they were the skills I had at that moment. What really mattered was that I followed my heart. The rest would just be self-indulgent pity.
Then there are the easy things. Pick up the garbage and throw it away. Practice being really considerate and feel the sweetness that it brings into your life, and the synchronicity that gravitates around you when you are somebody who is so conscientious of other people. Maybe a few extra actions of being considerate could be fun. It is fun to be considerate.
Some people say that being considerate is such extra work, and they have to consider others, and they have so much on their plate. They cannot possibly do that. Nonsense! It is fun. It is fun to walk around with the soundtrack of your life playing, and you are dancing through life. You are there for this person, you are there for that person, and you let that stranger through. There is a big smile on your face, and all the energy is flowing. It is fun.
Do you see how it is one of the essential principles of spirituality? You do not think of Buddha and say that guy was not considerate. Of course he was considerate. Think of any of these wonderful human beings. One of their most defining characteristics is that they cared about others. It is not always the archetype of the saint that comes in its most obvious form. Sometimes it expresses itself in integrity, honor, and the hard truth. There is a level of selflessness.
Yang Meditation and Energetic Clearing
There is yin and yang. Yin is holding space and being empty. Yang is taking space and being assertive. This polarity, which is a masculine and feminine polarity, is the yin and yang. The yin is in the yang. If you look at the picture, the white is in the black and the black is in the white. There is a yin in the yang and a yang in the yin. It is something to contemplate.
We have focused a lot on yin meditation, which is letting go, dissolving, being nothing, and going away. Sometimes that is not as easy to do because we may have the karma of self and density that needs to be cleared first so that we can dissolve. Sometimes a deep clearing is necessary to dissolve. As energetic upkeep, it is important to constantly clear your space. Yang meditation is the assertion of will to purify and clear one's space.
There is a spot one inch or half an inch below the belly button. It is the lower dantian, the navel center. This whole area in the lower abdominals is a faculty of willpower. When you try to shift your space, whether it is in your third eye, your heart, or your aura, you will feel that your navel center will push. It pushes and works. You can use it to flex your energetics and clear the space.
When we do this in its accelerated form of healing, you want to bring vitality and qi into your energy body. If you can use the light to do it, to bring it into light, that is even better. You can use this to will the light as well, the brightness.
We have an astral energy body, which includes the front tube called the Sushumna. It is an astral tube that goes through the chakras. We have our third eye and crown. There is a pillar of light that goes above our head. There are nodes in front of us, points or vortex energy points outside our body that we can feel and connect with. There is also the whole aura, the space below us, the spinal channel, and the microcosmic orbit, which goes through the Sushumna and around the spinal channel, underneath the perineum, and back around.
All of this can be cleared. Our hand chakras, palm chakras, arms, legs, everything must be cleared. You will the light and the energy so that density is replaced with vitality, fluidity, and qi. Bring the qi into it. It feels almost like flexing it. You can do it in pulses, or you can hold it and sustain it. A pulse is like a concentrated push, and then you sustain it.
Try to be careful not to flex your own body too much because you can stretch your fascia too much. It can hurt, and I do not know how safe it is. Try to make sure you are just working with the energy. Sometimes there is fascia stretching that can help open it as well. Be intuitive about that and do not go too far.
The first step in yang meditation is to feel the heart center. It makes us more of what we are. We want to open the heart, disarm the heart, and let it expand.
Bring your attention to the navel center and begin to build energy there. Accumulate. Make that accumulation a little less passive and more active. You have a navel center. Find it. Activate it. Power. Feel fire.
Now go to the third eye. Intensely feel the qi in the third eye. Hold your third eye intensely, and use your navel center to do so. Clear the space. Bring intensity to the third eye. Will a transformation of your energy. This is the accelerated path to magical states of mind. Renew your intensity.
Move to the crown. Right on top of the head, there is a chakra, the crown chakra. It feels like magnetism. Open. Increase the vital energy there. You do not have to particularly focus on the navel. It tends to activate when we try to activate the other chakras. It steps in. That is what it does.
If you want to, put your hand above your head. Put it sideways above your head with the palm forward, and push against the astral stream. It is maybe three or four inches above the head, with your middle finger pushing forward. You can feel it activate. It holds the qi open and holds the chakra open. Go back, move it forward again, and repeat that. Push and hold it. If you feel sufficiently activated, put your hand down and just use your will.
Now blast the heart chakra. Feel your heart. Reach out. Be a beacon of love. Use your will to intensify the heart energy, like the Care Bear with the heart that has light going out. Clear your heart inside the body and outside.
The key is to take the next step. You may barely feel it, or you may feel it a lot. What matters is progress, not perfection, not some ideal. Every step up the mountain toward our beloved state is a joy. Just take the next step. Learn to feel your heart and grow that energy.
You can be very intuitive with this practice. Perhaps you need to move energy through the heart and clear it in a particular direction that only you can know. You are using the will, and you are listening to the energy field. What does it need to become more fluid? Magnify the energy. More heart. More heart. Generate a great deal of love from the heart center. Will a change.
Bring the entire body into light now: arms, legs. If you look with your astral vision, you will see yourself glowing like a statue of light. Clear your entire space. Let all the stagnations and impressions become a holographic fluidity of qi and vital life force energy.
Will it. You have that power, that spiritual power. Focus on the light. Bring the energy and transformation into the center of the brain, the back of the head, the hands and arms, the shoulders, the back of the heart, the solar plexus, the back of the solar plexus, everywhere. Legs, feet.
A good final step in a yang meditation is to let go and coast. Ride the wave that you just worked so hard to catch. Let the momentum carry you. Now you can do yin. You will notice the energy is still flowing. Perhaps you are still dancing with it and moving with it. That is okay. Just enjoy it.
Bring your hands to your heart. Really center. Perhaps take a look at the eternal now, the eternal here.
Who am I?
What am I?
Ask the ancient question. Feel the heart.

Colin Hey, Adam.
Adam Wes Hi, Dad. Hi, Daniel.
All right, let's start with a short meditation. Maybe light... I am going to light some incense in a moment. Namaste, everybody.
Hey, Mom, what were you showing there?
Colleen I did not see that you had that gallery, that long passage with all your gallery pictures. It looks beautiful. I love that awesome picture, actually.
Adam Wes You love what?
Colleen That picture as a picture.
Adam Wes Oh, thank you. Did you see the one that is a ring?
Colleen No, it is just all of it.
Adam Wes There is another one. There is one that is a hallway, and there is one that is a ring.
Colleen Yeah, I like the hallway.
Adam Wes Did you see the ring?
Colleen I do not think so.
Adam Wes All right, make sure to look. I think you will like that one too. It is similar, but the hallway I like a lot. Thank you.
Consideration as Spiritual Practice
Welcome, everybody.
Today, I would love to talk about something that is quite spiritual, and yet I think a lot of people do not recognize it as specifically spiritual.
The sermon for today is consideration, to be considerate. It is quite essential.
Most people are not considerate. It is a practice. It is an art to be considerate.
When we are considerate, we have learned the subtleties of our presence. To be considerate, one has to be listening and aware of others. How do they feel when I say this? Did slamming the door affect that person?
The list goes on. There are so many little things to notice, so one has to be extremely conscientious. In fact, perhaps the sermon should be “Consideration and Conscientiousness.” Maybe that is the more complete title.
We have to be conscientious of the effects of our actions. Some people walk into the movie theater speaking at the top of their voices. They are late, they open their phone, the light is shining, and they are completely oblivious to the way they are affecting others. This will just perpetuate an inner state of isolation.
But when you do everything considering everybody around you...
Namaste, David. Nice to see you. The sermon for today is “Consideration and Conscientiousness,” and how that is an important, indispensable part of spiritual practice.
See, was I being considerate to let David know the context of the conversation? It is an interesting thing. The heart feels a pull because it is listening to the hearts of others.
I think, as a community, what a wonderful thing for us to do is to hold that principle high together and say, “Okay, the world may be lacking in consideration in general.” There are probably a good number of people who already are considerate, but together we recognize the indispensable quality of being considerate. Together, we can practice that this week.
What is involved in consideration? We have to be conscientious of our actions. Usually, children and teenagers are not very considerate because they have not developed that awareness. Hopefully, as they grow into adults, they mature and become considerate, but that is not always the case.
It is interesting because some of you I know to be extremely considerate people, and yet you have not necessarily connected that to an aspect of your spiritual evolution. It is. You have developed the capacity to see others, to listen, and to be aware of their feelings. Your heart, as a faculty of knowing, is knowing the condition of others and attending to their condition by considering them within the potential choices that you may make.
What are some ways we could be considerate? Just be aware of the neighbors and how they are affected, and of your friends and how they are affected. It requires us to get over ourselves and go beyond selfishness into a self-transcendent perspective.
Perhaps it is a little bit of a shorter sermon. What else might you say?
Oh, good manners? Yes. Thank you. Give me some ideas to talk about here, because I think there is actually more to it than this. Let us talk about manners.
Etiquette Communication and Empathy
Good manners. Thank you, Dad. Good manners are a form of consideration, for sure. It is more than simply being polite.
My Param Guru, my teacher's teacher, would say that etiquette is a very beautiful Eastern principle. You see it in Japan a lot. There is a lot of etiquette. They bow. If somebody is older than you, you bow lower. There are all kinds of etiquette there, and it is not just a matter of being polite. It is actually a way of conducting oneself in life so that we are not trashing everybody. We are not just trashing the place. There has to be a level of reverence for another human being.
“I honor you. Thank you for being here.”
There is power in that. There is power in etiquette, in its various forms. Sometimes it perhaps becomes dogmatic, like, “Stick your pinky out when you hold the spoon.” Maybe that does not matter.
But yes, it is a form of respect. When we are respecting others, we are considering them because we are not trashing their feelings. We are keeping a clean inner dialogue between us and others. Very progressive relationships require us to consider those inner dimensions of respect, etiquette, and manners, and how we can be aware of how somebody feels.
I think communication is an important part because, in order to be considerate, one has to be in some form of communication with another. That communication may be empathic and unspoken, but sometimes it is good to check in with people.
Some people do not know how to speak up, or some lack of communication causes a degradation of a relationship because consideration cannot ensue and enrich the experience.
Sometimes letting people know, checking in with people, and letting people know why one does something is a form of consideration. You could say something to somebody and see that they are deeply offended or very bothered by it. Of course, maybe you did not mean it in a bad way, so that might be an opportunity to be considerate of their feelings and clarify what you meant, rather than just leaving them with that. That is a form of consideration.
Of course, there are more obvious versions, like not yelling across the apartment complex at two in the morning when everybody is sleeping. But there are more subtle versions that require somebody to really be empathic and attuned to the feelings of others.
This is an essential thing.
I am thinking of a film, Blast from the Past. In Blast from the Past, which is a great film if you have not watched it, there is a guy named Adam, and he is raised by his parents underground. It is a long story.
He comes into the world 30 or 35 years later and meets these people. He had called them a gentleman and a lady, and they did not even know what that really meant. He told them that a gentleman and a lady are people who try to make everybody around them feel as comfortable as possible.
Really make people feel comfortable. What a beautiful quality to cultivate. It is very connected to the heart. When we do this, our heart expands and warms. We are tending to others. You can tend to your plants, your art, and your business, but you can also attend to others through consideration.
Any thoughts? Namaste. Anything to add, or any questions or comments?
Colleen I am just thinking that inconsiderate people are sometimes like when you let people through in traffic and they do not even look at you. I usually find myself just giggling because it is amazing to me how a little thank you or something is nice. I find I am very attracted to people who are considerate.
Adam Wes Yeah, I feel like your friends are like that.
Colleen You just feel them so much more.
Adam Wes Yeah. I think I was referencing you earlier. I was thinking, of course you have considerate friends, because those are the people you like to spend time with.
We live in a society, especially in America, of “me, me, me, me first,” everybody out for themselves. That is not the considerate orientation. The considerate orientation is very much an us orientation: we, us, ours. Not me, mine. Not, “Me first, you second. Get as much as I can. You have to fend for yourself.”
It is, “I am considering everybody.”
In traffic, let somebody go first. How wonderful does it feel when we do that? We feel it in our heart. We feel how honorable it is.
I like that you giggle at these people. To have compassion for people who are not as spiritually evolved is also a form of consideration, to forgive them in their ignorance. Maybe they do not know yet. Maybe nobody told them. Or maybe they are so scared that they will not consider the whole country.
Colleen I do not know.
Adam Wes I am getting a little political for a moment there.
But ultimately, for us, we want to reach a place where being considerate is natural and balanced. It does not mean being selfless and having no food, no shelter, and no peace of mind, and giving everything away, because then we are not being considerate to the totality without exclusion. Excluding ourselves is putting a divider where there should be no self and other. There just is conscientiousness to everything, all.
Oh, Andrea. Thank you, David, for introducing us to Andrea. We love Andrea.
David, do you have anything to share? I feel like this is part of your mastery, and I would love to hear what you have to say about it.
Consideration in Difficult Decisions
David P Yeah, I am going through this particular situation with the company I am working for right now, where I am struggling with whether I should let go of one person who reports to me.
Adam Wes That is tough.
David P Yeah. There is a line. I think that one needs to be considerate as much as possible, but at the same time, not lose sight of what is needed and required. Both can be mixed and overlapped. One can get confused and mix what is happening with what one would decide should be happening.
With consideration for others and the problems that others may have, at least here in Latin America, we tend to mix these things and be more protective, despite the fact that others do not achieve what they need to achieve.
That is why I am struggling. I have these two feelings, that I should be more protective of this person and more considerate of the problems he is having, but at the same time, I have a job to do. There is a job to be done.
Adam Wes But what about being considerate to your company? And perhaps being considerate to the individual who may subconsciously know that they are not in the right space?
Even if they stayed, there is some feeling that they are not completely accepted or completely a fit for the position. If they left, maybe they would find something in which they could thrive more completely.
It may be difficult. Being considerate and seeing the truth seem to be very much linked because consideration is less about our opinion and our power over others, and more about recognizing what is right.
I think trusting that could be very powerful for you. You are just a messenger, and your job is to act on what is right, what is righteous, which is to do the right thing in that moment.
Perhaps a month later, if they get let go, you could call and check in with them or keep an eye out for an opportunity for them, which would be beautiful.
David P Hmm.
Adam Wes I do not know if it is that simple. It usually is not.
David P You gave me one idea.
Adam Wes Beautiful.
When you were talking, you made me realize something as well. Who is most liked? A considerate person, right? People love people who are considerate.
Patrick Stewart. I love Patrick Stewart. I have been so sad about Patrick Stewart this last week, a great actor who passed away this last week. When you look at him and feel why the whole country is mourning him, perhaps the world in a way, you can feel that this man was deeply considerate. That is why he was so well loved.
When you look at him, you think, “This was a father to our nation, a father to the world,” in a way, through the roles that he played. He stood with the honor of a father who cares for others and attends to the family, which is his whole society. He did that in his roles, and you can feel it in his essence all the way back to his acting in the nineties and before. This man was deeply considerate.
To be considerate is a way to be very well loved and well liked. It is a wonderful way to be. I would not say to do it in a selfish way, but recognize that people will feel happy with you. They will feel safe around you because you are looking out for them.
Sometimes the truth is difficult. Perhaps for you, David, I think it is very considerate to bring the truth through. This relationship between your company and that employee may or may not be appropriate anymore. It is a very considerate thing to follow through, with a heavy heart, with what is necessary. It is a service.
Continue to be in service beyond that. Do not just say, “Good riddance,” to this individual. You are in service.
It seems that there is always one way.
I feel I am very much connected with that as I talk about these things. I am trusting my heart and saying what happens spontaneously. Then how could I regret it if I followed my heart? What else could I have done? Maybe my skills were not perfect, but they were the skills I had at that moment. What really mattered was that I followed my heart. The rest would just be self-indulgent pity.
Thanks, Mom.
I hope that is helpful for you, David. Thank you for contributing that challenging dilemma of being considerate.
Then there are the easy things, right? Pick up the garbage and throw it away.
Let us practice that this week, if anybody is up for it. Let us practice being really considerate and feel the sweetness that it brings into your life, and the synchronicity that gravitates around you when you are somebody who is so conscientious of other people.
I am sure many of you are already quite considerate, but maybe a few extra actions of being considerate could be fun. It is fun. It is fun to be considerate.
That is the right attitude. Some people say, “Oh, being considerate is such extra work, and I have to consider others, and I have so much on my plate. I cannot possibly do that.”
Nonsense! It is fun. It is fun to walk around with the soundtrack of your life playing, and you are dancing through life. You are there for this person, you are there for that person, and you let that stranger through. There is a big smile on your face, and all the energy is flowing. It is fun.
Cool. We will end on that. Namaste. Thanks for being here.
You should know, and I say this with consideration, that if you were not here, I would be sitting in this room by myself, trying to talk about consideration with the wall. I am so grateful to have people I can talk to about these things on a weekly basis. It is really wonderful.
When we share it and speak it, go and share this with your loved ones and friends. Talk about it with them. Say, “How could I be more considerate?” Or, “Let us talk about being considerate in our family, our business, and our friendships.” Have some fun with it. Spread it.
Do you see how it is one of the essential principles of spirituality? You do not think of Buddha and say, “Oh, that guy was not considerate.” Of course he was considerate. Think of any of these wonderful human beings. One of their most defining characteristics is that they cared about others. Look at Gandhi, Mandela, my grandfather.
Colleen Mother Teresa.
Adam Wes Mother Teresa, yes.
There are other people, like Steve Jobs, who I think were actually considerate. While he fired people, he was standing for the creation of something that would change the world.
It is not always the archetype of the saint that comes in its most obvious form. Sometimes it expresses itself in integrity, honor, and the hard truth. I think those people are just as important if they can do that. There was a level of selflessness.
Steve Jobs did not even make that much money at Apple. He could have made so much more money, and he just did it because he loved his work. If you look, he actually made a lot less than he could have made. He said he had enough.
He is just one of the special entrepreneurial individuals that I study. I think it is good to study those people and see the universal principles being expressed within their lives.
Community Platform and Meditation Resources
All right. I know, David, that you liked some of the recorded meditations. I made a new one that I think you will really like. I have also added music to them.
David, go to LoveLightSangha.com. If you set up an account, we have a whole community app now where we can message each other.
Can everybody please finish their profile? Actually, I think most of you have done it. If you log in again, it is going to ask you for information. It would be nice if you finished the profile and represented. There are a lot of people who are not a part of our weekly circle there, and I think it would be nice if they saw us as an example of filling in the profile. Most of you have already done that.
Ariella, if you need some help...
David P Oh, Circle is no longer?
Adam Wes Circle is...
David P Your living Circle.
Adam Wes I have not officially decided that yet. The problem is that I was not able to make the Circle payment, so I need to restart it. Unfortunately, that is the only reason. Otherwise, we would still have Circle right now.
But I would like to redesign Circle in our own app. I think it would be better. Do you have any thoughts on that, David? How have you felt about Circle?
David P This morning I tried to go to the meditation hall, and I said, “Oh, I need to log in to the other platform.”
Adam Wes That is unintentional. I have been under a lot of financial strain, so I have not been able to keep up with that. It costs about $130 a month to keep Circle going.
I am going to try to get it back up and running, and then perhaps I will migrate everything over because this app is much more customized for our needs. It has a meditation area with a timer, it tracks your meditations, and we can all message each other. It is really great. I prefer it to Circle in a lot of ways.
We have a new meditation. It is a yang meditation, and we will do that today.
I have also added music to the meditations as an option. You can turn it on and off. If you want the music, it is quite nice. It is very soft music in the background. I might make it slightly louder, but it gives the full ambiance of the meditation.
I am planning to add a few more. I think we could probably have about ten meditations on there. You can choose which ones you like. We have five right now, plus silence.
Man, it makes me upset that David tried to log in and it was like, “Sorry, Adam has not paid.” It makes me feel bad.
David P No. Do not, dude. No.
Adam Wes I am attached to Circle. We have been building that, and a few other people said, “Okay, well, I cannot get in.”
All right, let us meditate.
Yang Meditation and Energetic Clearing
Today we will do a very important meditation, a yang meditation.
There is yin and yang, sometimes pronounced “yong.” Perhaps “yong” is the correct pronunciation, but a lot of people say “yang,” and I grew up saying it that way, so I say that.
Yin is holding space and being empty. Yang is taking space and being assertive. This polarity, which is a masculine and feminine polarity, is the yin and yang.
We use our will. This is a little esoteric and subtle. You are going to have to figure out how to do it, and I will try to guide you.
You are going to bring the qi into it. It feels almost like flexing it. You can do it in pulses, or you can hold it and sustain it. Pulse, pulse, pulse, then sustain it at a pretty high level.
A pulse is like a concentrated push, and then you sustain it.
I used to do this so hard that I would actually cause physical effects. I remember thinking, “Oh my God, I did it too much, and my lung feels funny.” Try to be careful not to flex your own body too much because you can stretch your fascia too much. It can hurt, and I do not know how safe it is.
Try to make sure you are just working with the energy. Sometimes there is fascia stretching that can help open it as well. Be intuitive about that and do not go too far.
Let us begin.
Sorry, Mom. Are you falling asleep? She is like, “We were supposed to start meditating 17 minutes ago.”
Okay, let us get started. I will try to guide you.
It makes me sad when we do not meditate enough. I talked too much. Sorry.
The first step in yang meditation is to feel the heart center. It makes us more of what we are. We want to open the heart, disarm the heart, and let it expand.
Now bring your attention to the navel center and begin to build energy there. Accumulate. Make that accumulation a little less passive and more active.
You can do it. You all have a navel center. Find it. Activate it. Power. Feel fire.
Now let us go to the third eye. We want to intensely feel the qi in the third eye. Hold your third eye intensely, and use your navel center to do so.
We are clearing the space. Bring intensity to the third eye. Will a transformation of your energy. This is the accelerated path to magical states of mind. Renew your intensity.
Okay, let us move to the crown.
Put it sideways above your head with the palm forward, and you can push against the astral stream. It is maybe three or four inches above the head, with your middle finger pushing forward.
You can feel it activate. It holds the qi open and holds the chakra open. I go back and move it forward again, and repeat that. Push and hold it.
If you feel sufficiently activated, you can put your hand down and just use your will.
Okay, now let us blast the heart chakra. Feel your heart. Reach out. Be a beacon of love. Use your will to intensify the heart energy, like the Care Bear with the heart that has light going out.
We are clearing our heart inside the body and outside.
More heart. More heart.
Okay, just a few more minutes. Generate a great deal of love from the heart center. Will a change.
All right, bring the entire body into light now: arms, legs. If you look with your astral vision, you will see yourself glowing like a statue of light.
Clear your entire space. Let all the stagnations and impressions become a holographic fluidity of qi and vital life force energy.
Will it. You have that power, that spiritual power.
Focus on the light for this step of the meditation. Bring the energy and transformation into the center of the brain, the back of the head, the hands and arms, the shoulders, the back of the heart, the solar plexus, the back of the solar plexus, everywhere. Legs, feet.
Okay, one more song.
Perhaps a good final step in a yang meditation is to let go and coast.
Namaste.
Meditation Reflections and Closing
Perhaps that was a little different from what we normally do, but it is actually a very important practice that I probably should have shared with you a while back.
Ariella, would you like to share? You can keep meditating, Mom.
AriellaShira L Yeah, I would like to just stay there.
Adam Wes Tell your husband you are not coming to dinner.
AriellaShira L It was a wonderful feeling.
Adam Wes Wonderful. Try a little yang. I think that will balance out your yinness because you are quite yin.
But you have a lot of energy. The yin is in the yang. If you look at the picture, the white is in the black and the black is in the white. It is interesting because there is a yin in the yang and a yang in the yin. Something to contemplate.
Did you see any light?
AriellaShira L Yes, I saw light and felt light.
Adam Wes Beautiful. Nice qualification. The seeing is always a feeling. Nice, Ariella. Thank you. Namaste.
AriellaShira L Thank you.
Adam Wes You are welcome. How about you, Mom?
Colleen Yeah, I saw some light, but I was going in and out of dreams, or whatever you want to call them, as well.
Adam Wes Astral journeys.
Colleen Astral journeys, yep. Not leaving the house. That is the way to do it.
Adam Wes What colors did you see today?
Colleen I thought I saw some whites today, doing some geometric patterns. Then I saw purple, green, and pink.
Adam Wes Beautiful. Were you able to feel your navel center?
Colleen Was I able to feel what?
Adam Wes Your navel center.
Colleen I started off doing that, like the little spurts. Not really a lot.
Adam Wes It sounds like you did little spurts. That is a good start.
Colleen I want to try again next time.
Adam Wes Keep building your navel center energy. How did you feel your third eye? Did you feel the pulling?
Colleen I did not do the third eye today.
Adam Wes Oh, you were already in your dream state. Okay.
Colleen Sorry.
Adam Wes No, that is good. That is totally good.
Colleen Thank you, Adam. It was nice. I feel nice and relaxed.
Adam Wes Good. At some point, if you start tuning me out, you are probably doing something right.
Colleen Thank you.
Adam Wes David, would you like to share? Are you up for it? No? Okay.
Daniel, would you like to share? Are you up for it?
Daniel V It was just a little bit different. I felt a lot in my hands and in my... Well, that is all. Thank you. I am running out of battery, so thank you.
Adam Wes Okay. Namaste. Wonderful.
Andrea, do you want to share, or are you good?
Andrea P Yeah.
Adam Wes Hi.
Andrea P Sorry, I cannot. I am in the street, but I did meditate. I do not have anything to share.
Adam Wes Okay. Well, nice to see you.
Look, I do not know what it is, but it is us in Mexico. This is a Mexico Sangha. All three of you are in Mexico. Mexico and the West Coast, which I guess California is kind of Mexico. It used to be Mexico.
Andrea P Yes, you have to come. I already told you.
Adam Wes Oh, yeah. We are probably going to end up doing the Sangha retreat soon in Andrea's town.
Andrea P Yeah.
Adam Wes Ariella, get ready to buy a ticket. Okay, we are all going.
All right, guys. Namaste. Thank you. Sorry I went over today. My lack of timing.
Send me a message in the Sangha if you are up for it. I would love to try the messaging or the thread. I want to see if it works. Nobody has said anything but me.
All right, guys. Thank you. Bye!
